SOME FOOTWEAR BUSINESS NEWS...

The Philippine Footwear market is expected to maintain strong growth rates over the forecast period, with the category set to increase in value at a CAGR of 6% at constant 2016 prices to reach PHP136.6 billion in 2021. As a vital extension and expression of one’s social status and fashion sense, footwear is set to continue experiencing strong growth as disposable income levels are likely to continue rising over the course of the forecast period. Increasing image consciousness coupled with the increasing desirability of some footwear brands is set to encourage consumers to trade up to brands that are deemed to be higher in quality and this is also set to benefit the category during the forecast period.
